State of the Schools Report
2004-2005
December 12, 2005
Each year the Nebraska Department of Education releases its "State of the Schools" Report on state learning standards. The reports present a picture of how well Nebraska students are learning the curriculum taught in their classrooms. The report also rates each school district on the quality of their assessment systems. Independent panels of experts judge each district's assessment system. High quality assessment systems along with high quality curriculum are essential to ensuring that students achieve at a high level of proficiency.
The State of the Schools Report contains a wealth of information and will give you a good picture of education in our Seward Public Schools. In addition to our assessment system ratings and student performance on standards, you will find:
- Demographic information including a description of the district and student characteristics
- Curriculum offerings
- Standardized test performance (ACT and TerraNova)
- Information on our teaching staff
- Attendance/graduation/dropout rates
- Financial expenditures and receipts
- Federal AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) information
