High School Highlights

December 12, 2006

During the 2005-06 school year, the staff at Seward High School continued work through their "Learning Teams". These Teams are composed of staff members with specific functions or areas of study for the betterment of our school.

Some of the areas that were studied during the past year included-the block schedule, instruction, curriculum-standards-essential learning, and other areas as deemed necessary. From the studies recommendations are made by the Teams for change in those same areas. Changes are made that may affect all students at Seward High School. Changes to improve the curriculum, improve the schedule, or improve what we do for students are goals of the Teams.

The staff at Seward High School also continued their work in using best instructional practices. Continued training using "APL" methods and practice with those methods in the classroom is becoming more evident and positive for our students.

Seward High School graduated 100 students in May of 2006. We certainly will experience growth in the coming year as there are144 incoming ninth grade students registered. We will continue to build from our past as we look to our future and the education of all students at Seward High School.
