SCHOOL DISTRICT OF SEWARD TRANSPORTATION SERVICES 2005-2006

December 12, 2006

The Seward Public School District maintains a fleet of 21 buses to serve the district's student transportation needs on regular school route and activity trips. The district also provides transportation to some of the local parochial students.

The transportation coordinator oversees 23 drivers. The drivers all hold CDL licenses and receive Level 1 and Level 2 training, as well as CPR instruction, to meet driver qualifications.

Approximately 31.8% (431) of the district's 1,357 students ride a bus daily on 12 routes. A shuttle bus system moves students between buildings in the district. Most buses begin their routes at 6:50 a.m. and deliver students home by 4:15 p.m.

Buses are serviced and maintained by two trained mechanics. The district added a new activity/route bus in the 2005-2006 school year.

To ensure safety for the students:
