Columbus Marching Band Competition

This past Saturday, October 4th, the Marching Band arrived bright and early to the high school at 6:15 a.m., departing by 6:45 a.m. They headed off to Columbus to march in a parade competition occurring at 10 a.m., with many other bands to march as well. After the parade, the buses headed over to the performance field to eat lunch and to watch other bands perform.
By 4 p.m., the band headed over to the practice field to get a couple show “run-throughs” just before performance time. Once back to the performance field they took the field for competition. The band ended up scoring a 68/100, which qualifies as a Division II score, putting the band in second place. Wish them luck as at the Lincoln High competition on Saturday, October 11th.
Quotes from a band member and band parent:
Patrick Wambold: “I thought that the band played really good and the guard did a really good job. I thought for sure we were going to get a Division I score.”
Sid Kamprath: “You guys do an awesome job; you’re great, you’re wonderful, you’re awesome. Keep up the good work!”
