The School District of Seward Board of Education held a study
session as part of the regular board meeting June 8, 2009 at 5:30
p.m. in the Discovery Center, Third Floor of the Middle School
Building, located at 3rd and South Streets, Seward, Nebraska.
The President called the study session to order at 5:30 p.m.
stating that the session had been preceded by advance publicized
notice and was convened in open session.
All Board Members were present except Pekarek who was absent due to
illness in his family.
REMINDER OPEN MEETING LAW
The president reminded those in attendance that a copy of the open
meetings act is posted on the west wall of the Discovery
Center.
FACILITIES PLANNING—NEXT STEPS
The Board spent the entire planning session brainstorming what the
next steps will be in the facilities planning process.
The board decided to invite Rex Schultze from the Perry Law Firm in
Lincoln to come to the next meeting. He specializes in construction
laws relative to school buildings. The board had met with him
previously last school year.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:45
p.m.
