The School District of Seward Board of Education held a study session as part of the regular board meeting June 8, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the Discovery Center, Third Floor of the Middle School Building, located at 3rd and South Streets, Seward, Nebraska.
The President called the study session to order at 5:30 p.m. stating that the session had been preceded by advance publicized notice and was convened in open session.
All Board Members were present except Pekarek who was absent due to illness in his family.

REMINDER OPEN MEETING LAW
The president reminded those in attendance that a copy of the open meetings act is posted on the west wall of the Discovery Center.

FACILITIES PLANNING—NEXT STEPS
The Board spent the entire planning session brainstorming what the next steps will be in the facilities planning process.

The board decided to invite Rex Schultze from the Perry Law Firm in Lincoln to come to the next meeting. He specializes in construction laws relative to school buildings. The board had met with him previously last school year.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
