Thursday, August 28. Freshman Lindsey Placke led the Jays with her
second place finish. Placke shot a 43 on the first nine and a 42 on

Amy Knabb of Grand Island Northwest. Junior Chesany Eberle was
Seward’s only other medalist of the day. Eberle shot a 55 on the
first nine and a 50 on the back nine for a total of 105. Eberle
placed 15th out of 54 golfers. Malynn Brandenburg, Alyssa Sleight
and Keasha Zadina also competed at the invite. Zadina just missed
medaling placing 19th.
Just four days after their last meet, the Jays turned around and
had a duel against Crete. The Jays shota team score of 203 to

with a 57. Alyssa Sleight fired a 53 to lead the “B” Team. “The
dual was a great opportunity to get all 14 girls on the course and
get some experience. Brooke Beckmann in her first year on the golf
team continues to improve. Makenzie Myers led the group of girls
who only played 6 holes in their first meet,” commented Coach Tom
Widler.
