The Lady Jays softball team has tallied up 23 runs in two games. A total of seven innings were played in two games, which made the games short and sweet. On Monday, September 28th the girls had their last regular season home game against Centennial Broncos. It was parents’ night, in which the seniors and their parents were recognized. The girls were fired up and ready to win.
The Jays put up four runs in the 1st inning, and six runs in the 2nd inning. The game came to an early end with the run rule in affect, scoring an impressive 10 runs in four innings, and not allowing any. “The Broncos couldn’t do much about it, we put the pressure on, and a lot of it,” quoted Coach Piskorski.
Next the Jays traveled to Schuyler to face the Warriors. However, the Warriors didn’t put up much of a fight. In this game, more of the underclassman got a chance to play. They didn’t show that they were young, however. Sophomores Bryanna Goldsmith was on the mound, and Hannah Mullaly was behind the plate. Goldsmith rang up six players from the Schuyler offense. Seward scored seven in the first inning, and six in the 2nd. Once again the game came to an early end, 13-0 in three innings.
