On Tuesday October 20th the Seward freshmen football team played Waverly at Seward. Waverly was the first to score in the game. The halftime score was 14 to 12 with Waverly in the lead. The score at the end of the game was 24 to 20 Seward.
Levi Wasser and Trey Barnes both scored a touchdown and Alex King scored two. All of the touchdowns were scored by runs. The quarterback, Matt Krause, had one of the best passing nights of the season. He was 7 for 9 for around a total of 100 yards.
“This was probably the most exciting game of the season. It was a back and forth game that came down to the last minute. The kids played hard and won the game,” commented Coach Opfer.
“If you try hard, you will never fail,” stated player Carl Heinicke.
The freshmen football team has one more game on Monday October 26th.
