During the 2005-2006 school year, the science curriculum was evaluated and realigned with the state science standards. New materials were selected and classroom assessments were redesigned and evaluated to obtain data on how well our students perform on the state science standards.
The students in Seward are performing very well on the state standards and with the changes in realignment of the curriculum, we should see even greater percentages in the next few years. The table below illustrates the overall averages in grades 5, 8, & 11 and reflects the percentage of students at each of the proficiency levels on all standards.

A complete report on how students performed on all science standards at each grade level may be viewed here. (pdf file)
