Mueller Selected Seward Youth Rotarian for February

Natasha Mueller, a Seward High Senior, was selected the Seward Youth Rotarian of the Month for February. She was recognized and honored at the weekly meeting of the Seward Rotary Club on Wed. Feb. 10th, 2010 at the Jones National Bank and Trust auditorium. A luncheon preceeded the program, prepared by Rotary Chef Della Miers.
Natasha is the daughter of Paul and Sandra Mueller of Seward.
Natasha is involved in the Seward Cross Country program and a member of the State Championship team. She in a four year SHS Track star, qualifying for the State Track Meet the last three years. She is a four year member of the Seward High Basket Ball Team and a starting team member of the 2009 State Championship Team. Natasha is also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the SHS FCCLA. She is a four year member of the SHS FFA and volunteers for many of their community service projects.
A three year member of the National Honor Society, Natasha is always on the SHS Honor Roll. She is an active member of her Godparent Group at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church.
She plans to attend UNO and is an invited walk on to the UNO Basketball team next year. She plans to be a pre-med major and hopes to eventually become a doctor and study pediatrics.
Her “Service Above Self” emphasis was in serving as a coach for the young students in the Seward City Recreation program. She has been a student leader in the City program for many years, mentoring students in both basketball and track. She also points to her many hours of community service in the area of emphasis by her FFA Chapter. She has served and attended many activities at the area nursing homes with the FFA Chapter.
Natasha was presented with a book scholarship and information and mementos from the Seward Rotary Club. She will again be recognized at the annual SHS Honors Night with the other Seward Rotary Youth Rotarians. Students at SHS can apply for the monthly award by completing the application in the counselor’s office.
