Megan Boye Named April Fine Arts Youth of the Month
SHS Senior, Megan Boye is the April Fine Arts Youth of the Month. She is the daughter of Dr. Vicki Boye of Seward.
Megan is an honor student, always on the SHS Honor Roll and a member of the SHS National Honor Society. She was the SHS nominee for the National Council Teachers of English (NCTE) Writing Award for Nebraska. Megan participated in the SHS Marching Band, and the SHS Jazz Band. She participated in the SHS One Acts and was part of the SHS One Act Competition Show for three years. She is a leader of the SHS FCCLA Service group at SHS.
Megan participated in a variety of area writing workshops sponsored by the GFWC Nebraska Federation of Women’s Clubs and various poetry/drama workshops at Concordia University. She received First Place in the Bess Streeter National Aldrich Short Story Contest twice-2012 and 2014. She enjoyed having her art featured in the showcase of art at the Lied Center for Performing Arts and has had her art displayed at the Red Path Gallery in Seward.
Megan has been recognized numerous times by the GFWC Seward Woman’s Club arts contests in photography, art, and short story and poetry contests, receiving first place awards locally and at the district level along with the state levels of competition.
She plans to attend Concordia University in Seward and study Graphic Arts.
