Elise Bohning Named February Fine Arts Student of the Month
SHS Senior, Elise Bohning, the daughter of Jeff and Mary Bohning of Seward is the Seward High Fine Arts student of the Month.
Elise is a member of the Seward High National Honor Society, and consistently on the Honor Roll for all four years of her high school career. She has been involved in Quiz Bowl and participated in the VFW Voice of Democracy Speech Contest as well. She is a Library volunteer and involved with the story time program.
Elise is a member of the SHS Swing Choir for the last three years and involved with the sound booth for the annual SHS musical. She is a longtime member of the Marching Band-the Tenor Saxophone Section Leader for two years. She is a member of the Pep Band, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, and Percussion Ensemble and a member of the SHS Swing Choir band.
Elise was involved and selected for the Central Conference Honor Band, Concordia Musical Arts Day and participated in the District Music Contest—lettering in the band. Elise has also been involved with and enjoys the piano and has taken piano lessons for ten years.
Elise loves art and her art classes and has entered her artwork in numerous competitions, and has been recognized with many awards as a result.
She is a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Seward and active in the church’s Godparents program.
She plans to attend the University of Nebraska Omaha and major in IT Innovation.
