Will Brown Fine Arts Student of the Month
Launch the media gallery 1 playerSHS Senior, Will Brown was selected and honored as the April Fine Arts Student of the Month. He is the son of Herbert Brown the III and Kandi Brown of Seward.
Will has been an active member of the SHS Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Concert Band and Small Groups-participating in many District music contests, as well as numerous special, selected Honor Bands and Honor programs. Will has been a section leader in the band and longtime loyal member of the instrumental program at SHS.
Will has been a member of the SHS Academic Decathlon Team: part of the local Seward High team was first runner up at the AD Regionals –who’s team was named a state qualifier and went on to win and be named the State Champion in the Medium School Division and currently competing at the national level competition through an online program for Academic Decathlon.
Will is also a member and leader of the SHS National Honor Society and an involved leader in Skills USA, competing in the SHS Skills USA Quiz Bowl Team A and a host of other program competitions at the State and National levels.
He is a longtime, loyal member of the SHS Quiz Bowl Team A, serving as a co-captain and a member of the 2016 First Runner-Up team for the Regional ESU #6 Quiz Bowl contest and a member of the Quiz Bowl team awarded the Central Conference Championship in 2016.
Will has been a loyal member of the SHS Speech team, double entered in Extemporaneous Speaking and Informative Public Address-winning medal and awards at many speech tourneys this year, and named a District Finalist as well. He was named the Second Runner up at the recent State Optimist Oratorical contest and competed in both Poetry Out Loud and the VFW Oratorical contests as well!
Will plans to attend Iowa State and become an Aero Space Engineer.
