The Seward Middle School 8th Grade Quiz Bowl teams competed for the first time at the Seward Civic Center on Wednesday, November 9th.  They were competing in the State NE AMI Middle School/Freshman Quiz Bowl with 50 teams and 30 schools represented at the tourney from across Nebraska.  The Blue team went 1-2 in pool play and lost to perennial power Gretna team in the first round of the tournament.  The Gold team went 2-1 in pool play but lost a close match to local rival Centennial in the first round of the tournament.  For their first Quiz Bowl competition experience, they did quite well and showed a lot of potential.  Blue team members are Elizabeth Gokie, Emma Kuss, Samantha Rojewski, Braden Adams, Rory Nolan and Isaiah VanBeek.  Gold team members are Emily Gokie, Lilli Heaston, Ally Gross, Ashton Conner, Andrew Alley and Claire Novak."
