SHS Drama Class Presents Christmas Readers Theater at Ridgewood, Green Place and Brookdale
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe 2016 SHS Drama Class presented a Reader’s Theater with a Christmas theme at the Seward Ridgewood Care Center on Friday, December 16, during their 5th hour class period at the end of the school day. They also presented at Green Place on Monday, Dec. 19th and Brookdale on Wednesday, Dec. 21st with the same presentation.
The group presented a “Readers Theater” version of the Christmas story by O. Henry’s, The Gift of the Magi, adapted by Mindy Sterns Clark. The adaptation was presented by SHS students Tirey Bearup, Kiona Coe, Destiny Fuentes, John Hurley Washington, Amanda Jensen, Craig Jirovsky, Rebecca Martin, Mikayla Rudebusch, Katryna Rukas, Rachel Sierra Mendoza, Nana Abenaa Wright. Their teacher is Clark Kolterman.
Following the presentation, selected memorized poetry was recited by the students from their Poetry Out Loud competition and the group concluded with a series of Christmas carols.
