Souchek Twins Named February Fine Arts Students of the Month

The Seward Souchek twins-Riley and Morgan Souchek are named the February SHS Fine Arts Students of the Month.  They are the twin daughters of Russell and Rhonda Souchek of Seward. 

Both of the girls have been longtime and active members of the SHS music program- and active members of the SHS band and choir programs.

Riley has been the SHS Drum Major and a Section Leader the March Band Drum Major and plays clarinet, bass clarinet and tenor Saxophone. Morgan was a Section Leader and in the Marching Band Color Guard/Flags.  Riley is in Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band.  Both are long time members of the SHS Choir as well.  Riley is a loyal member of the Seward City Band in the summer.

Both girls worked with the local one act plays for several years, working behind the scenes as stage managers and assisted with the Conference and District One Act Play Productions as well. Both girls participated in the local Seward VFW Voice of Democracy Speech Contest and and the “Poetry Out Loud” poetry recitation contest at SHS.  Morgan also is a member of the SHS Dance team.

Both girls are active members of the Living Word Lutheran Church God Parents program and voices in the congregation’s youth program.  They are both loyal and active leaders in both the SHS FCCLA and SHS Key Club service organizations.

Morgan plans to attend Midland University in Fremont and study Education.   Riley plans to attend Doane College to study Music Education.
