SHS Speech Team brings home 9 medals from Aurora Speech Classic

The SHS Speech team participated at the very large Aurora Speech Classic this last Saturday.  SHS brought home nine medals in seven events. The medalists included Nana Abenaa Wright/Kenna Gottschalk-Duet-Fourth Place, Grace Orwen/Becca Martin-Duet-NInth place, Thomas Bosmeniel-Poetry-Tenth Place, Maci Spotankski-Informative-Ninth Place, Abbey Van Velson-Persuasion-Sixth Place and John Myers-Persuasion-Eight Place medal. 

 Students receiving Superior ratings from SHS included Maci Spotanski, Abbey Van Velson, John Myers, Thomas Bosmeniel, Grace Orwen, Becca Martins, Nana Abenaa Wright, Kenna Gottschalk, Taylor Brodecky, Bailey Mooney, Andrew Pavel, Cayden Glandt, Evan Nottingham, Kevin Lyon, Sydney Erickson, and Tirey Bearup.

Volunteer judges included Will Helmer, Austin Van Velson, Austin Taibemal, Brodie Oshel and Clark Kolterman.  Clark Kolterman serves as the Speech team Coach and Sponsor. 

Schools in the contest included York, Aurora, Central City, Doniphan Trumbull, Hampton, High Plains, McCool Junction, Minden, Nebraska Christian, Sandy Creek, Sutton, Wood River, Blue Hill, Lawrence-Nelson, Thayer Central, Columbus, Bruning Davenport, Deschler, Seward, Fillmore Central, Osceola, Hastings St. Cecelia, Giltner, Centura Cross Coutnry, Kearney Catholic, and Elba High School.
