Molly Newburn is the January Fine Arts Youth of the Month

SHS Senior, Molly Newburn is the January Fine Arts Youth of the Month. She is the daughter of Dr. Hank and Shannon Newburn.  Molly has been a leader in the area of Fine Arts at SHS in a variety of departments.

She is a longtime member of the SHS Marching Bluejays, serving as the Marching Band Drum Major this year.  She is also a member of the SHS Pep Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble,  Concert Band, and was selected for Central Conference Honor Band.

Molly is a leader and longtime member of the SHS Swing Choir/Show Choir and continues to mentor students in the group.  She has been involved in a host of groups with District Music Contest and participated in the Concordia Musical Arts Day.  She participates in the annual SHS Musicals and is a member of the Select Choir, Mixed Choir and participated in the annual Hits Night.

Molly participated in the One Act plays as well as the VFW Voice of Democracy Speech Contest on the local level.  She is a member of the SHS National Honor Society and always on the SHS Honor Roll.

She is a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, leader in her church youth group and a voice of youth for her congregation.  She is involved in the church’s choir and band as well.

Molly has been involved with the summer Concordia Chamber Choir for many years.
