SEWARD OPTIMISTS WELCOME ADVISOR-STUDENTS

The Seward Optimist Club held their monthly meeting at the Seward Sparetime Bowling Alley on March 13th.  Dinner guests present were from left to right:  Seward HS Students, Cordell Vrbka, Junior., Ryan Wall, Senior, and Noelle Baker, Academic Decathlon Advisor.  Noelle gave a presentation on the Academic Decathlon year. The theme for this year was the 60’s.  Seward Optimist Club provides shirts annually for the team.  Ryan Wall was a member of the team.  Cordell and Ryan’s essays were selected locally and are now eligible to compete with other club sponsored essays for the District Optimist International $2500 scholarship to be selected the first partof April.  Each student read their 700-800 word essays on this year’s topic: “When All the World’s Problems are Solved, is Optimism Still Necessary?”  Cordell and Ryan were presented their medals and certificates from Lana Urban, Optimist State Essay Chair in the absence of Clark Kolterman, Club Essay Chair.
