Two SHS Students Selected to Participate in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) Seminar
Two SHS juniors were selected through application and by interview to participate in the Rotary International District 5650 Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) seminar over the week-end of April 17-19 at a camp near Nebraska City. The students who applied and were selected include SHS juniors Cole Gray and J. J. Metschke. The students each submitted a written application and questionaire, a resume and participated in an interview with local members of the Seward Rotary Club.
J.J. Metschke is the son of Jonathan and Amy Metschke and Cole is the son of Rick and Jocelyn Gray, both of Seward.
The students will participate in a series of leadership activities and seminars over a three day period, preparing them to return to SHS and be prepared to assist in a variety of leadership activities for their senior year of high school.
The program is funded by local Rotary Clubs and at no cost to the students. Two of the Seward students were funded by the Seward Rotary Club. Assisting the club with the selection was the SHS Counselor Noelle Baker.
