SHS Recognized at the Statehood Event at the Capitol in Lincoln by State Fair Education Division-2020

The State Fair Education Division showcased students and announced that Seward High was the recipient of the State Fair Education Division Sweepstakes Award at the recent Statehood Recognition event at the State Capitol on Friday, February 28th, 2020 at noon in the Warner Chambers.  Representing Seward High were SHS Senior Nolan Whitney and recent SHS graduate Bailey Mooney. Both student representatives had been recognized and honored in various competitions at the recent 2019 State Fair Education Division last August.

At the showcase, Bailey Mooney and Noah Fields were recognized with Sweepstakes trophies for multiple wins in the various competitions sponsored by the Nebraska State Fair Education Division.  They also presented the High School Sweepstakes trophy to Seward High School for garnering more points in the various competitions by students from Seward High.  

SHS Senior, Nolan Whitney accepted the State Fair Education Sweepstake Trophy on behalf of Seward High School from the State Fair Education Director Judi Harper of Grand Island, Nebraska-naming Seward High the top Nebraska High School in the Nebraska State Fair Education Division.

SHS teacher, Melissa Pohl serves as the advisor/sponsor for the annual Seward High participation in the State Fair Education Division competitions, along with the Seward School District of Seward High Ability Learner Program (HAL).
