Breakfast with Santa a Success-Co Sponsored by SHS FCCLA and the Seward Rotary Club-2021

The annual Seward High FCCLA’s and Rotary Club’s Breakfast with Santa was a success, with a basement full children and families in attendance for the holiday festivities at the Seward Civic Center on Saturday, December 11th, 2021.  The Seward Rotary Club hosted the area residents with a breakfast of donuts, fruit, candy, juice and milk.  They were assisted by members of the Seward High Family Community Career Leaders of America (FCCLA).

Featured entertainment was group singing led by Seward Rotary member Clark Kolterman.

Many prizes were shared through a drawing for all present and the high light of the event was a visit from Santa Claus.  Guests with December birthdays and out of town guests were also recognized and honored with gifts from the Seward Rotary Club.  All the very young babies “won” a special Christmas book, promoting The Seward Rotary Literacy Campaign.

FCCLA Alum, Riley Nuttelman, coordinated the ticket sales.   Rotarian Greg Zabka called the North Pole and made sure Santa could attend the breakfast, coordinating the visit.  Zabka and Nelson also assisted with the door prize drawings.  FCCLA leaders, Kaylie Nelson, Marisa Schmeckpeper and Aireonna Huntsman served as the project youth tri-chair for the SHS FCCLA.

The Rotary Club sponsored stacks of giveaway prizes to promote literacy, with the giving of a variety of Christmas books and books with Christmas themes.  They also gave away in drawings, seven special, and Christmas themed stuffed animals.  The final drawing was for a special “stuffed” Santa.
