Seward High School Recognized at Statehood Program at State Capitol

Seward High School was recognized by the Nebraska State Fair Education Division at the Annual Statehood Day Celebration program on Friday, February 25, 2022 in the Rotunda. The event recognized and presented Seward High School with the top- First Place- Sweepstakes Award and trophy-naming SHS the Grand Prize winner in the High School Division. 

Representing Seward High at the event were two of the Champion- First Place winners in the 2021 Nebraska State Fair Education Division competitions- Elianah Wunderlich, First Place in Poetry Outloud-poetry recitation and Julya Metschke- First Place in Community Service Project- Individual Division with her SHS FCCLA STAR project- both are students at Seward High! State Fair Education Division Chair- Judi Harper served as the event EmCee. 

At the event - Elianah Wunderlich presented her Poetry Out Loud poetry recitation. 

Also attending was SHS Sponsor/Teacher Melissa Pohl.  SHS Teachers Melissa Pohl - Language Arts and Nathan Knott- Art, are the official State Fair Educational Division sponsors for Seward High. 

The sweepstakes award is based on number of participants/entries and Championships in the various competitions!
