Seward High Music Students Showcased at GFWC District IV Fine Arts Festival

The GFWC Nebraska Federation of Women’s Club’s District IV Fine Arts Festival was held at the Seward Civic Center on Wednesday, March 16th – featuring competitions in the area of art, crafts, photography and music.  

The three students from Seward High were recognized with First Place Medals, certificates and $50 scholarships in the area of Vocal, Instrumental and Piano.  Musical presentations were made by each student and the Seward High entries were each presented the first place medal and scholarship from the GFWC NFWC District IV President Bonnie Kruse.  

First Place in piano was Joshua Jurchen, Michaela Broadwell played the trombone in the instrumental division and Dylan Adams presented a vocal solo.  The students were acknowledged, thanked and recognized by the GFWC District IV President Bonnie Kruse and met following the contest to discuss other ways to involve area student musicians in future Fine Arts endeavors. 

The local students were sponsored by the GFWC Seward Woman’s Club and the GFWC Seward Junior Women’s Club. Local SHS Music teachers are Ben Rickert-vocal and Amanda Kenny-Band/Pinao.
