At its May 6, 2026 club meeting, the Seward Rotary Club recognized Seward High School senior Micah Royuk, as the April Youth Rotarian of the Month. Micah is the son of Kyle and Amy Royuk. Youth Rotarians of the Month are selected based on their service, scholarship, leadership, and citizenship efforts during high school. They receive a book scholarship for college and a bag of information about Seward. Monthly Youth Rotarians are also finalists for the Seward Youth Rotarian of the Year award which will be presented at the annual SHS Honors Night.
Micah demonstrates academic excellence with his 4.0 GPA, membership in National Honor Society, Honor Roll achievements, and in several AP and honor courses throughout his high school career.
Micah’s school commitment is demonstrated through his participation for the past four years in cross country, track and field, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Micah is a state medalist in track and served as the cross country team captain. In addition to his athletic success, he has also been active in SkillsUSA for three years, and FBLA for one year. He is a Bluejay Ambassador and mentors younger students through Junior Jays.
Outside of school, Micah has gained experience through detasseling work and is preparing for his fifth summer with Sloup-Thorell Detasseling. He has also maintained his own lawn care business since 2019. He is also a four-year member of the Godparents program at St. John Lutheran Church.
Micah has documented more than 120 hours of community service. His most significant service projects include his roles with Vacation Bible School, being a worship assistant, leading youth basketball camp, helping with track club, completing volunteer lawn work, serving at concessions, and hallway decorating at the school.
Micah plans to study civil engineering at Dort College following graduation in May 2026.
The Seward Rotary Club wishes the best to Micah and all area seniors; and the club encourages each of them to embrace opportunities to serve others locally and around the world with their specific gifts and interests.
