At its August 26, 2026 club meeting, the Seward Rotary Club recognized Seward High School senior Jackson Einspahr, as the August Youth Rotarian of the Month. Jackson is the son of Kregg and Suzanne Einspahr. Youth Rotarians of the Month are selected based on their service, scholarship, leadership, and citizenship efforts during high school. They receive a book scholarship for college and a bag of information about Seward. Monthly Youth Rotarians are also finalists for the Seward Youth Rotarian of the Year award which will be presented at the annual SHS Honors Night in May.
Jackson demonstrates academic excellence with his 4.11 GPA, and by qualifying for the honor roll for 12 terms. Prior to starting his senior year, Jackson achieved a 32 composite ACT score, and a score of 35 for STEM. He is a member of National Honor Society, and has taken several AP and honors courses. He is an academic letter winner, won first place in the GFWC poetry contest, and was on the Nebraska Stock Market Game team that placed 9th out of 600 teams. He has been recognized as a Bluejay Pinnacle Award recipient for academic excellence and is a two-year member of FBLA.
In addition to his academic excellence, Jackson is also an accomplished athlete. He is a two-time state qualifier and medal winner in Track and Field and he currently holds the school record in the 1600m run. He is a two-year participant in Fellowship for Christian Athletes, football, and cross country, and a three-year participant in basketball and track and field.
Jackson has been involved in many service opportunities for school, leadership, and civic engagement. He currently serves on the Ignite Youth Leadership Team as a youth delegate at St. John Lutheran Church. In this role, he helps guide programs such as Godparents, Youth Hour, and other fun activities. He provides student advice to the Youth Director as a leader representing other youth. At St. John, he has also volunteered to lead fun games and activities and provide general support to Vacation Bible School. He has volunteered to teach new skills and techniques to younger athletes by volunteering at football, basketball, and cross country sports camps since 2023. Jackson was selected for the Sophomore Pilgrimage in 2025. Jackson has documented more than 80 hours of community during his first three years of high school. Jackson says the following about service above self: “Multiple times during high school I have faced moments where someone was in need of a helping hand. I’ve sacrificed my time because I knew it was the right thing to do.”
Jackson has been dedicated to growing his skills through work experiences in addition to his many other commitments. He is OSHA certified, was a Roguer for Varsity Detassling, and currently works as a dog sitter and caretaker.
As Jackson begins his senior year, he is discerning his postsecondary options to achieve his plans of attending a four-year institution while competing in track and field.
