Seward High Student Assist in Decorating National Guard Museum Trees for Christmas

Three students’ from Jamie Policy’s Woods Class finished their wood working projects early and volunteered to assist the Nebraska National Guard in preparing for Christmas, by helping with the trees and decorations for the facility.

Seniors Jake Reeves, Tyson Reisdorff and Derek Rathjen from Jamie Policy’s Woodworking Class, all volunteered to set up, string the lights and decorate the ten foot artificial spruce tree donated to the museum by Senator Mark and Suzanne Kolterman of Seward.  The tree, lights and angel ornaments were presented to the new museum to honor US Military Veterans of Nebraska, as a memorial to their fathers, Donald C. Kolterman and Carl Geis who both served in the military during WWII.

Other trees donated to the museum included an artificial tree donated by Jean Kolterman of Seward-complete with red, white and blue decorations for the Concordia University Learning Center and an artificial tree at the entrance to the museum donated by Steve and Sharon Hambek of Seward.

Plan to visit the National Guard Museum over the holiday season-which is currently open week-days from 8:00 to 4:00.
