Today, the Seward High volleyball team hosted a 36-team tournament running NINE courts. A tournament of this size would not be possible without the use of the Seward Wellness Center. Thanks for supporting the Bluejays, SWC, and for all your help & flexibility. Thanks to "What's the Scoop" for providing some cool treats! We had a great day!

Friday was the SHS band's marching performance in Magic Kingdom! The rain held off long enough for us to complete our parade in front of the castle. (It poured with huge thunder and lightning about an hour after we finished!) Students did a great job, and all received a pin to mark them as honorary cast members. We also received a banner that will be displayed in the band room. Check the comments fora video!

Wednesday the SHS band was at Universal. We started our day with a recording session on a working sound stage, recording music from the movie Trolls that we had been rehearsing. Then students were selected to read the parts for the characters in the movie as well as doing sound effects as individuals and the group. We got to hear the rough draft of our finished product, and will have the final edit to share in a couple months! A lot was learned about the process of creating and recording audio for movies. After our recording session, students spent the rest of the day park hopping between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We explored lots of new worlds, including Harry Potter and Marvel, went on coasters, and ate lots of food. Check the comments for a few group shots during recording and a video of our snare drummers playing one of our cadences with chopsticks! Percussionists always have to be drumming! It was a great day!
