School District of Seward
Superintendent of Schools
Comments: I am so pleased to be a part of the Seward school district team and the Seward community. I have been working to get to know people and I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome. It is obvious that Seward is very proud of their community and schools.
I believe that a school is successful when it can be said that the students who graduate are prepared for what they need to know and be able to do to be successful in life. Our students are changing and expectations for schools are changing, which means even good schools can and should improve. But improvement and change should be done on the basis of data and research and best practices in education. We must link our efforts to improved results. The value of having standards is the power of the evidence that teaching and learning are what influences student achievement.
