Guppies Sponsor 100th Day Activities at Middle School

MS staff "ties together"

MS Teachers TIE Together for the 100th Day

One of the Middle School teacher "Fish Schools", the "Guppies," have orchestrated a 100th Day of School Celebration for Friday, January 23rd.  As a surprise for the students, the entire staff wore neckties to show the students that teachers really can have a good time together!  To "tie" into the 100th day, teachers were given several ideas for 100th day activities, and were asked to devote 10 minutes of activities related to the number 100 in each class.

Not everyone knows how to TIE a TIE! Mr. Miller helps Mrs. Geidel...
Some activities in various classes included:

  • Writing a story with 100 words on a page (no more...no less!)
  • Doing 100 leg stretches
  • Using metrics and estimation to see what weighs 100 grams
  • Doing 100 of "something" in PE...jumping jacks/pushups/etc.
  • Building Lego towers...who can get the tallest tower in 100 seconds?

The Guppies provided some fun snacks for the staff:  licorice "tied" into a knot, fish crackers, pretzels, a piece of chocolate, and some string cheese!

A little TIE fun!
The environment at the Middle School was FUN and students enjoyed some activities involving "100."  It was an In-TIE-resting day!
