SHS Evening of One Acts set for November 8th!

The Evening of One Acts is scheduled for Thursday, November 8,2007 at 7:00 pm at the new theater at Seward High School. Tickets are purchased at the door and all seats are $4.00. Three one act productions will be presented directed by Clark Kolterman, SHS instructor.

"The Poet and the Rent" is a comedy, set in the 70's, dealing with a poet who is forced to find a job to pay his rent. A variety of experiences present many opportunities for poetry in this production. The show was written by David Mamet and the student directors of the play are Jon Ross and Melanie Maxson of Concordia University in Seward.

The cast includes Kaitlin Wright, Paul D. Myers, Grace Redmond, Kenny Stratton, Felicia Kolterman, Lindsey Hofer, Austin Taibemal, Cale Thomason, Rhiannon Root, Jessica Rea, Keasha Zadina, Kayla Lowery, Lizzy Pfeiffer, Amber Schmersal and Heather Kuhlman.

The second one act is "When Shakespeare's Ladies Meet" by George Kelley and deals with the situation of a meeting of the female leads from various Shakespeare plays who decide to visit with Juliet about her relationship with Romeo. This all girl production's student director is Heidi Graham of Concordia University.

The cast includes Porcia: Taylor Baumeister, Katherine: Jillian Kongsjord,
Ophelia: Ariana Miller, Desdemona: Mandi Drohman, Juliet: Megan Lee and Cleopatra is Kelsey Wullenwaber.

The final one act for the evening is "Princess Knight" by Martin Follose and presents the story of a princess who wanted to be a knight and fight in her father's army. She meets the prince of her dreams and they live happily ever after a variety of things happen to her. The Concordia University student directors of this play include Ashley Panwitz and Timm Heath. This show will represent Seward High in the One Act Conference contest at Aurora on November 20 and at Seward High at the NSAA District One Acts Contest on December 1, 2007.

The cast includes Josh Moravec, Holly Petersen, Logan Gee, Keri Volnek, Karl Luebbe, Nate Walden, Jacob Perkins, Sarah Garbers, Eric Heidemann, Kayla Luethke, Andrew Martin, Daniel Pfeiffer, Stephanie Rippstein, Hannah Gerth, Robert Kolterman, Nathan Broeker, Evan Canning, Abbie Groth, Sammi Rech, Rex Baumeister, Tanner Smith, Bobby Elwell, James Schaepe, Felicia Kolterman, Cale Thomason, Kelsey Wullenwaber, Rhiannon Root and Austin Taibemal.

The Tech crew includes Jacob Imig, Jim Horan, Eric Heinicke, Jon Ross and Grant Vaslin.
