Seward High’s One Act Play Places Third at 2010 NSAA District Contest
The SHS one act play “Romeo You Idiot!” by Tim Kochenderfer placed third and was awarded three superior ratings in the Nebraska School Activities Association’s (NSAA) annual Play Production Contest held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the new Seward High Theater. The B-3 contest involved eight Class B schools competing to represent the District at the NSAA State Play Production contest next week in Kearney, NE.
Seward High also had the distinction of having the most performers awarded “Outstanding Acting” awards at the contest. Receiving the award for “Outstanding Performance” were Dayna Svoboda, Jillian Kongsjord, Daniel Pfeiffer, Robby Kirkland, Riley Miller, Eric Heidemann, Doug Simpson and Dillon Holder. The play was directed by Clark Kolterman.
Norris High’s play, “The Secret Garden” by Frances Burnett won the contest and “Atrum Crepusculum” by Frank Toelle placed second. School participating in the contest included Milford, Wahoo, Norris, Waverly, David City, Crete, Raymond Central and Seward.
Judges for the contest were Amy Hostetler, Randy Rood, and Mariann Von Rein.
