Seward High Pulls out Seven Medals at the David City High Speech Tourney

The Seward High Speech team members pulled out seven medals at the recent David City Speech Tournament on Saturday, February 9th, 2013 at David City High School.  There were 19 students from SHS that also were recognized with Superior ratings during the day’s presentations.  The tourney featured nine events and three different levels of completion for the finalists.  SHS students making finals and placing included Zach Bruick in Varsity Champs division with Third Place in Extemporaneous Speaking and Varsity Champs division in Informative Speaking-6th place.  Carl Heinicke placed Sixth in the Varsity Honors division in Extemporaneous Speaking.  Alexa Bruick placed Second in Novice Honors division  of Extemporaneous Speaking and Chase Nissen placed Fourth in Novice Honors division in Extemporaneous Speaking.  The duet of Megan Runyan and Montana Hill placed Second in Novice Honors Duet presentation division.  
SHS students recognized with superior ratings for the day included Zach Bruick, Carl Heinicke, Alexa Bruick, Chase Nissen, Emma George, Lauren Shepherd, Brodie Oshel, Emma Orwen, Montana Hill, Megan Runyan, Michaela Brown, Nikki Seizys, Cailin ten Bensel, Alyssa Winterfeld, Kristi Einspahr, Kyle Glandt, Hannah Moody, Sierra Wignall, Siana Dyell,
Clark Kolterman served as the coach for the Seward Team. The Novice Team placed fourth of the thirty teams registered and the Varsity Team placed ninth of the thirty teams.  Seward judges participating in the tourney included Dayna Svoboda, Sarah Garbers, Alyssa Sleight, Daniel Pfeiffer, Clark Kolterman, Emily McAllister and Katie Quiring.  
Brownell-Talbot High School of Omaha won the Varsity Tournament and Battle Creek High School won the Novice Tournament.
