SHS Well Represented at Lincoln Northeast High Quiz Bowl Contest-2013
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThree teams from the SHS Freshman class participated in the recent Lincoln Northeast High School Quiz Bowl /Brain Bowl Contest at Lincoln Northeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday, April 27, 2013. The SHS Team B placed Fourth overall in the Freshman Brain Brawl tourney!
The teams included SHS Quiz Bowl Team B-Montana Hill, Josh Hendrickson, Megan Runyan, SHS Quiz Bowl Team A-Alexa Bruick, Will Helmer, Ben Galusha and Clara Heinicke, SHS Quiz Bowl Team C-Elise Bohning, Michaela Brown, Emma Orwen. Clark Kolterman served as the team’s sponsor/coach.
In the morning Team A won two matches--Cross County in Stromsburg and Norris High and lost to Gretna Team A. The match where they defeated Norris was the strongest match of the entire day-winning 245 to 45! Team B won two matches-Bellevue East and Norris, and lost to Gretna and Elkhorn High. Team C lost all three matches in the morning to Bellevue East, Cross County, Pius X and Elkhorn.
In the afternoon single elimination tourney, the SHS Quiz Bowl team C lost to Elkhorn South, SHS Quiz Bowl team A played SHS Quiz Bowl team B and Team B won by one question over Team A. Then SHS Quiz Bowl Team B lost to Gretna and lost to Elkhorn High. Gretna won the annual Freshman Quiz Bowl tourney.
