Seward High To Host Three One Act Plays on Tuesday, Nov. 17th!
The annual Evening of One Acts will be held in Seward at the Seward High School Theater on Tuesday, Nov. 17th at 7:00 pm in the new Seward High Theater, with all tickets sold at the door. The three shows feature “Quixote-Man of La Mancha,” by F. Scott Regan, “The Brothers Grimm Spectacualthon” by Don Zolidis, and “Java Good Day” by Kyle Rojewski-a senior at Seward High. The shows are directed by Kyle Rojewski of SHS, Concordia Student Directors- Stephanie Shearer of Arapahoe, Jayme Lowe of Atchinson, KS, Emily Kolbaum of Columbia, MO and Lindsey La Mountain of Gretna, NE, along with Seward High Teacher, Clark Kolterman.
The competition show for SHS is Quixote-Man of La Mancha. In the SHS contest show, Alonzo Quixano has become obsessed with chivalry and thinks himself a wandering knight in search of adventure and his true love. He is directed back to his “senses,” but too late. The comedy, “Java Good Day” is a modern day melodrama, that centers around a “down and out “coffee shop, that is not successful, until a new employee puts spark back into the business and the one act play “The Grimm Brother’s Spectaculathon” features the “true” side of all of the 191 Grimm Brother’s Fairy Tales-mixed and matched to create a very interesting presentation, also in the form of a comedy, and ending with a “lightening round!”
There are no advanced sales for tickets and all seats are $5.00. The One Act play project does not accept activity passes. The one act play program received another grant from the Seward High Booster Club for the 21st time. To date, the SHS Booster Club has donated over $10,000 to the SHS One Act Program over the last two decades.
Seward High’s One Act will compete at the Central Conference on Monday, Nov. 23 at 9:45 in Central City and on Dec. 5th at 3:30 at Lincoln High at the NSAA District Play Production Event as well!
