SHS Sophomore English Class Sends Christmas Cards to Veterans

n conjunction withe the Seward Community Christmas Card Campaign to “Write a Christmas Card to a Veteran,” - sponsored by the GFWC Seward Woman’s Club, all the students in the English 10 Literature class were invited to participate in the program. The GFWC Seward Woman’s donated the Christmas cards and postage to have the cards mailed to the various veteran facilities.
“The English 10 classes were reading the Vietnam war novel “Fallen Angels” by Walter Dean Myers and the GFWC Veteran Christmas Campaign is a perfect project to honor those who have served our country,” said SHS English 10 teacher Kelly Limback. “We can never do enough to thank our veteran’s who served our country!”
The entire community rallied around the project- which kicked off at the GFWC “Festival of Trees” -with card tables at the Civic Center and Ne National Guard Museum.  Boxes of cards were mailed by the GFWC Seward Woman’s Club volunteers to Nebraska’s Veteran Homes in time for Christmas- wishing the Veterans a Merry Christmas and thanking them for their service!
