Molly Marroquin Selected as October Seward Youth Rotarian of the Month

At its November 5, 2025 club meeting, the Seward Rotary Club recognized Seward High School senior Molly Marroquin, as the Youth Rotarian of the Month. Molly is the daughter of Jon and Tina Marroquin and is the third of 10 seniors to be recognized this academic year. Youth Rotarians of the Month are selected based on their service, scholarship, leadership, and citizenship efforts during high school. They receive a book scholarship for college and a bag of information about Seward. Monthly Youth Rotarians are also finalists for the Seward Youth Rotarian of the Year award which will be presented at the annual SHS Honors Night.

Molly boasts an outstanding 4.04/4.19 GPA and is commended by her teachers as a student who demonstrates curiosity and critical thinking in her consistently high academic performance while also serving as a leader in her class, organizations, and the school. Her accolades are many through the high school, including: President’s Education Award in 2022, Nebraska State Fair Short Essay Honorable Mention and Doane College Honor Choir in 2023, and Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) in 2024. She has been in the Concordia University Honor Choir and on the Academic Honor Roll since 2022, and a member of the National Honor Society since 2023.

Molly has participated in a variety of activities including track, volleyball, the musical, mixed choir, and band. She has been selected multiple years for show choir and select choir. Her academic activities include Quiz Bowl, FFA, FCCLA, SkillsUSA, Speech Team, Key Club, and serving as a Bluejays Ambassador.

In addition to her service, academic, and leadership excellence, Molly has also built her skills as an employee. She worked as a lifeguard in the summer of 2023, and has worked at La Carreta Mexican Restaurant since 2024 as a hostess.

Molly plans to earn a degree in Biology and Chemistry from St. Olaf College in Minnesota following graduation in May 2026.

The Seward Rotary Club wishes the best to Molly and all area seniors; and the club encourages each of them to embrace opportunities to serve others locally and around the world with their specific gifts and interests.
