Jaina Johnson Selected to Represent Seward Optimist Club at State Optimist Oratorical Competition
Launch the media gallery 1 playerJaina Johnson, Seward High Junior, was selected the First Place winner in the local Optimist Speech Contest, allowing her to represent the Seward Optimist Club at the State Oratorical Contest, held in Columbus on April 22nd, 2023. She is the daughter of Stephanie Johnson of Seward.
Jaina was asked to write a four to five minute speech on “Discovering the Optimism within Me!” The speech was presented to the Seward Optimist Club at their monthly meeting on Monday, April 17th at 6:00 at the Sparetime to the local membership.
She was presented with a First Place Medal and Certificate of Appreciation and thanked with a special Gift Card to the local Dairy Queen!
She will compete with other students from across the state for a First Place Prize of $2500 scholarship. Last year she placed third and won $1000 scholarship. She will be competing for the scholarships at the Ramada Inn in Columbus at 1:00 pm.
